Workforce

The economy of the 21st century is dependent on the skills of the workforce, and the supply of appropriately skilled workers to fill positions throughout a company is perhaps the most important factor in a business’s location decision.  Schertz supplies some of the most highly educated workers to the San Antonio region, with 93% of Schertz adults over age 25 holding at least a high school diploma.  With the region’s highest proportion of military veterans, Schertz provides the region with a steady stream of highly skilled and able workers.

Nearly 40 percent of the city’s adult population works in management, professional and other related occupations.  In addition, various universities and world class research centers are within 30 miles of the city.  This labor pool and regional assets, coupled with San Antonio’s 1,000,000 area workers, offers businesses the skills, education, and long-term employees they need to compete in today’s global markets.
